Nice little dam with magnificent views around. We went there on our way back to Hobart from Gordon Dam. If you travelling from Gordon Dam towards Hobart, you have to turn right and drive a couple of kms. You will be driving around the lake. Serpentine dam creates Lake Pedder and the dam wall is concrete faced rock fill. Dam wall is 38m high.
Must see attraction and one of the engineering marvels in Tasmania. Fantastic drive from Hobart. Lots of picturesque landscapes throughout the journey. According to me this is one of the most picturesque dams in Australia.
About the dam, the highest dam in Australia. This dam is used to generate hydro power. There are a few interesting facts about the dam. Used double arch action to reduce the amount of concrete in the dam wall. Width of the dam wall at base is 17.7m while its only 2.8 on top. Height of the wall is 140m.

Can see a nice view from there. Worth taking a photo.
