I've been waxing poetic about the five Six Senses properties in Bhutan to anyone who will listen.
While I met others who mixed and matched different hotel brands, following the Six Senses circuit made everything seamless. My bills were transferred and settled on my last day. All of my preferences (from liking my room a little cooler at night to loving onions) seemed to be noted and carried across every lodge. My guide, Namgay, and driver stayed with me the entire journey and were the absolute best.
Six Senses Punakha was the most stunning property, in my opinion, with the lounge perched over the pool with the breathtaking view of the valley below. The well appointed room with the giant balcony felt very private and cozy.
One of my favorite experiences of the whole trip was the game of archery and darts at the lodge, combined with some ara (local spirit) tasting. It was raining heavily, but we (me, other guests, and staff) were having the time of our lives.
I really had an outstanding stay and I look forward to returning back to the Bhutan Six Senses family soon.
